Coastal Yacht & Maritime Association

Shared resources for the coastal maritime community.

CYMA brings together yacht clubs, sailing organizations, nonprofits, associations and maritime businesses, giving them fundraising, merchandise, marketing and visibility resources that few could build alone.

CYMA is in its founding stage. Programs are in development and membership details will be announced.

About CYMA

An Association Built Around Life on the Water

Yacht clubs, conservation groups and community associations have loyal communities, but few have the time or infrastructure to run online stores, fundraising campaigns, professional marketing or sponsor programs on their own. Marine businesses, meanwhile, want to reach people with a real interest in boating and the coast. CYMA is designed to bring those needs together so that every participant benefits.

One Network, Three Connected Groups

Member organizations gain resources, their communities gain products and content they care about, and maritime businesses reach an audience already on the water.

For Members

Clubs, nonprofits and associations gain revenue, engagement and visibility through fundraising, merchandise, sponsorship and digital marketing, without building their own ecommerce or marketing operation.

For Their Communities

Club members, sailors, cruisers, anglers, event attendees and conservation supporters get products, content and opportunities that support the organizations they already care about.

For Sponsors & Advertisers

Marine businesses reach engaged boating, sailing and coastal communities through trusted organizations, with less wasted advertising spend.

Programs

Our Programs

Every program is in development. Details, eligibility and terms will be published as each one is confirmed.

Member Storefronts & Merchandise

Custom-branded online stores for Member organizations, with apparel, accessories, club merchandise and commemorative items. CYMA coordinates design, listings, ecommerce, payment processing, production, fulfillment oversight and customer service. Members receive an agreed share of net proceeds, with no inventory to buy and no orders to fulfill.

Fundraising Campaigns

Time-limited collections and campaign pages for a cause, event or season. Each campaign has a written schedule and a public disclosure stating exactly what share benefits the Member, for example: "[Share]% of Net Proceeds from this collection benefit [Member name]. Net Proceeds are calculated after applicable production, fulfillment, transaction, shipping, refund, tax and other campaign costs."

Purchases are not tax-deductible donations by the buyer. CYMA does not offer raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways or other games of chance.

Membership Questions

Is membership open now?

Not yet. CYMA is in its founding stage. Register your interest and you will be contacted when membership opens.

Does a Member pay for storefronts or campaigns?

The intent is little or no upfront cost in ordinary cases. Optional services such as advanced design, photography or video may carry fees, always agreed in writing before work begins.

How are fundraising proceeds shared?

Each campaign has a written schedule setting the share and how it is calculated, typically a percentage of Net Proceeds after production, fulfillment, transaction and other agreed costs. The public campaign page states the same terms.

Do we have to share our member list?

No. Members promote through their own channels. CYMA does not require any transfer of member, donor or customer data.

Are dues tax-deductible?

Dues to a 501(c)(6) trade association are not deductible as charitable contributions. They may be deductible as a business expense. CYMA's tax-exempt status has not yet been determined.
